According to the voting results, the functions of the chairman of «Aerospace terminology» subcommittee of the international technical standardization committee ISO/TC 20 «Aircraft and spacecraft» from 2021 until the end of 2027 will be borne by the advisor to the general director of the FSBI «National research center «Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky», the secretary-general of the Union of aircraft manufacturers of Russia Lyudmila Rostovtseva. An absolute majority of the members participating in the technical committee supported the Russian candidate.
Lyudmila Rostovtseva has been an expert on international cooperation in the aviation industry for many years, has been directly involved in the work of intergovernmental commissions and working groups on aircraft construction, and has worked in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for more than 12 years. Currently, Lyudmila Rostovtseva is an active member of the International coordinating Council of aerospace industry associations (ICCAIA).
The formation of a common terminology is the basis for mutual understanding of specialists around the world. The further chairmanship of the Russian Federation in ISO/TC 20 SC 8 «Aerospace terminology» will allow to continue work on standardization of terminology in the field of aviation, taking into account the interests of our country and the practical experience of russian specialists, as well as to intensify the development of international standards on the initiative of the Russian Federation.
